Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the activities that are not allowed on any service provided by UniqoHost LLC. This AUP is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund, and in serious cases, referral to law enforcement.
1. Illegal activity
You may not use the Services for any purpose that violates United States federal law, state law, or any other applicable law in your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of end users. This includes but is not limited to:
- Distribution of content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
- Distribution or storage of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — we report all findings to NCMEC and relevant authorities;
- Sale or distribution of illegal drugs, weapons, or controlled substances;
- Operating unlicensed gambling or lottery services;
- Activities that violate export control or sanctions laws.
2. Prohibited content and services
The following categories of content and services are not permitted on our infrastructure:
- Malware, viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware, or any code designed to damage or gain unauthorized access to systems;
- Phishing sites, fraudulent "look-alike" sites, or any content designed to deceive users into revealing credentials or payment information;
- Botnet command-and-control servers and DDoS tools;
- Cryptocurrency mining on shared hosting, managed WordPress, or email plans (mining is allowed on VPS and dedicated plans where resource limits are not exceeded);
- Hate speech, incitement to violence, harassment, or content that promotes terrorism;
- Adult content featuring minors or non-consenting individuals;
- "Warez", key generators, cracked software distribution;
- Anonymous proxy services, Tor exit nodes, or open relays on shared infrastructure.
3. Email and messaging
You may not use the Services to send:
- Unsolicited bulk email (spam), regardless of the recipient or opt-in claims;
- Email that violates the CAN-SPAM Act, CASL, or GDPR email marketing rules;
- Email with forged, obscured, or fraudulent headers;
- Email promoting prohibited content listed in Section 2.
All outbound email from our Services must use a verified sender domain with valid SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Bulk senders (>500 recipients/day) must use a dedicated outbound mail service and be pre-approved by our abuse team.
4. Network and resource abuse
- You may not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or any other system without written authorization;
- You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, computer, or network;
- You may not interfere with the use of the Services by other customers through excessive resource usage, denial-of-service, or similar abusive behavior;
- Shared hosting and managed WordPress accounts are subject to fair-use CPU, RAM, I/O, and process limits. Chronic abuse may result in throttling or suspension;
- VPS and dedicated customers have full control over their allocated resources but may not use them in a way that impacts other tenants on the same host.
5. Security
You are responsible for the security of applications you deploy on the Services. If your account is compromised and used to host malicious content, we may suspend the account pending investigation and cleanup. You must:
- Keep your software (CMS, plugins, frameworks) up to date;
- Use strong passwords and enable multi-factor authentication where available;
- Cooperate with our security team during incident response;
- Notify us promptly of any suspected compromise at abuse@uniqohost.com.
6. Enforcement
When we receive a complaint or detect a violation, we will investigate and may:
- Issue a warning and request that you resolve the issue;
- Suspend the affected content, domain, or entire account;
- Terminate the account without refund in serious or repeated cases;
- Preserve and disclose content to law enforcement when legally compelled or when necessary to prevent harm.
7. Reporting abuse
Report suspected violations, including spam, phishing, copyright infringement, or security incidents, to abuse@uniqohost.com. Include the URL, IP address, timestamps, and any evidence (log snippets, email headers). We respond to confirmed abuse reports within 24 hours.
8. Changes
We may update this AUP as needed to address new threats or legal requirements. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
